HALOTHERAPY FAQ

What kind of salt is used?

Pharmaceutical grade sodium chloride (NaCl) so there are no additives, caking agents or Iodine.

What should I wear?

Normal, comfortable clothing is perfect. Whatever allows you to breathe easily, if you want to keep most of your clothes on and are more concerned about your skin, be sure to wear clothing that leaves the areas of concern open to the air. There is a hook on the outside of the sauna to hang jackets, belongings etc.

Will I be covered in salt when I’m done?

No. You’ll just need to give yourself and your hair a little shake, check the backside of your shirt and you’re good to go!

How often should I do halotherapy?

For general wellness and immune support, 1–2 sessions per week are ideal. For chronic respiratory or skin conditions, more frequent sessions (2–4 times per week) may offer better results.

Can children use halotherapy?

Yes! Halotherapy is safe and beneficial for children, especially those with asthma, allergies, or frequent colds.

Are there any negative reactions to medications?

Studies have not found any adverse reactions at this time. Should you have any concerns or questions we recommend that you consult with your physician prior to experiencing halotherapy. Some are curious about salt and it’s known effect on diet, blood pressure and fluid retention. It seems that when you inhale such a small amount of micron-sized salt particles into the respiratory tract, it does not act the same as when you ingest salt.

What is halotherapy?

Halotherapy, also known as salt therapy, is a natural wellness treatment that involves inhaling dry salt particles in a controlled environment (usually a salt room or salt booth). It’s designed to support respiratory health, skin conditions, and overall well-being.

How does halotherapy work?

A halogenerator grinds pure pharmaceutical-grade salt into microscopic particles and disperses them into the air. When inhaled, these particles help clear mucus, reduce inflammation, and kill bacteria in the respiratory tract. Salt also has natural anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties.

What are the benefits of halotherapy?

Halotherapy may help with:

  • Asthma and allergies

  • Sinus congestion

  • Bronchitis or COPD symptoms

  • Colds and respiratory infections

  • Skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis

  • Stress relief and relaxation

Improved breathing and lung function

Is halotherapy safe?

Yes, halotherapy is a natural, drug-free, and non-invasive treatment. It’s generally safe for all ages, including children. However, people with severe respiratory conditions or salt-sensitive conditions (like uncontrolled high blood pressure) should consult their doctor before starting.

What does a session feel like?

A session is peaceful and relaxing. You’ll sit in our private salt booth, breathing in the salt-infused air. The environment is calm—many people listen to music, meditate or just relax during their session.

How long is a typical session?

Our salt booth sessions are just 15 minutes. Shorter sessions are still effective due to the concentrated salt levels in the air.

Do I need to wear anything special?

Wear comfortable clothing. If you’re seeking skin benefits, wear shorts and a t-shirt to expose affected areas. Salt is gentle and will not harm your clothes or skin.

Will I feel or see salt in the air?

You may notice a slight salty taste or smell in the air, and sometimes a light dusting of salt on surfaces—but the particles are very fine and not visible like table salt.
